Today I got up kl 04 and took some pictures.

I got a bit of luck and saw a big moos bull.
I think it is a bull about 3 – 4 years old and about to get the new antellers.

And I ended up being about 20 meter from he bull !!!

It was about 2 meter high on the sholders – they get bigger up here in the north of Sweden due to the high amounts of snow during winter.
Closer

and closest

and off it went – the king of the forest is not afraid.

That is how things are very early. It is typical for very early mornings – worth “the pain to get really early up” and get out in the nature.

No fish yet – but I am working on it.

Subject: Jamtlands news #2 – always the hottest news!

Up here in Jamtland they have “the worst summer in 20 years “.
Their strawberries are still only in flower and have been for some weeks without getting to make any strawberries.
I went and looked and there are lots of flowers, some small green ones but they for sure are not going to be red!

There is high water every where so fishing in the rivers don’t work out very well – and on and on and on.

So when the sun is out for more than 5 minuts it tend that people run around doing all kind of outdoor things.

It is about 8 degree and there tend to be strong winds – 5 -7 m/sek and up to 12 m/sek when a shower comes in. When the sun is on, it climes to about 18 degree.

Anyway we just enjoy being here – here is in this little house of timber from about 1950.
Picture 03:50 in the early morning sun – somehow on the picture you don’t see the big lake in front of the mountain, and yes its name is Ottsjö and the little town is named after the lake.

Yes we enjoy extra a hot cup of tea :-)

We did a mountain walk yesterday (5 km) and I did one longer alone the day before (10 km). The air is so fresh and clean.

Basicly it is the norweign weather they got blown over the mountains – here is a picture from my walk on high ground (ca. 700m above sea level), showing the back of the mountain to the right as a shadow – its the mountain in front of our little rented house.

Yesterday we got fixed my biggest worry – there seems in the wet weather not to be any reins down in the area so we went to the best area around here where I from the knowledge from earlier visits should be able to see reins.
Patricia spotted them.
We got those two bulls in view – here the biggest one in full speed away.

They were very shy but I ran through a little wood and got them on the shore of a very big lake (30 km long)

On that trip we also saw a big cousin to the black grouse – in danish Tjur.
When I put my camera and lens out the car-vindow the small mosquitoes went on a full attack. That was quite an experience – and maybe why it just stood there enjoying the struggle unfolding in front of it..

I am now today invited out fishing with a local expert.
So we see how that goes – he is know for catching a lot of fish.

Due to high winds and lot of rain – against the promised weather on the forecast – we moved the fishing trip till tomorrow :-)
